Premiered at the 2022 Alma College Dance Company Student Choreography Concert Choreography: Alexis Abu Dancers: Madelyn Walmsley, Jordan Lorenger, Jocelyn Silk, Abby Strait, Emily Rivera, Kyleigh Hill, and Zoë Dawson Music: 'You Are a Memory' by Message To Bears & 'Before I Close My Eyes' by xxxtentacion here lies the weight of the world if the weight of the world is love, why is it burden we carry when love is no longer? why is grief the price we pay for love? the unavoidable, inevitable fate for all living is death at last, we conclude six feet under perhaps buried underneath a tree while our loved ones are left on this earth lost in the world they are left after our departure wondering how to carry on This piece, inspired by personal experiences that weigh heavy on my heart, explores the painful, inexplicable, never-ending process of coping with death and trauma.
